Overview
Laos is in the Asia hantavirus context. The country has documented circulation of SEOV (Seoul virus).
A 2011 multi-country survey detected Seoul-virus and Thailand-virus-related sequences in Rattus norvegicus and Bandicota indica trapped in Laos, alongside Cambodia and Thailand. Country-specific human surveillance is limited.
