1. Nature of the service
Hantaflow is an aggregator of publicly available hantavirus surveillance signals from public-health agencies and reputable news sources. It is provided free of charge, without registration, and on an "as-is" basis.
Hantaflow does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Any clinical, regulatory, public-health-policy or emergency-response decision must be based on authoritative source data and qualified professional judgement, not on Hantaflow.
2. Accuracy and completeness
Hantaflow makes a good-faith effort to ingest, deduplicate and rank signals from authoritative sources. We do not warrant that the data is complete, accurate, or up-to-date. The numbers shown represent signal volume in monitored sources, not confirmed clinical case counts. Source feeds may be delayed, contain errors, or change format without notice; ingestion may fail silently. The source ledger shows the live status of every monitored feed.
3. JSON API and RSS feed
The Hantaflow JSON API (/api/signals.json, /api/countries.json,
/api/health.json) and RSS feed (/feed.xml) are licensed
under CC BY 4.0.
You may redistribute and adapt the data, including for commercial purposes, provided
you:
- Credit "Hantaflow" with a link to https://hantaflow.com.
- Credit the underlying source for each signal (each entry includes a
sourcefield and aurl). - Do not imply endorsement of your derivative work by Hantaflow or by any of the underlying sources.
The API is rate-limited to roughly 120 requests per minute per IP address. Operators with a legitimate need for higher throughput may contact us at /contact.
4. Embeddable map
The embeddable map at /embed/map may be included in iframes on
third-party websites under the same CC BY 4.0 terms above. The "Powered by
Hantaflow" credit must remain visible in the embed. We may discontinue the embed
service or change its appearance at any time without notice.
5. Links to third-party content
Hantaflow links to articles and pages on third-party websites. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hantaflow and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this site, the API, the RSS feed or the embed, including but not limited to clinical-decision errors, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Permitted use of the site
You agree not to:
- Attempt to circumvent the rate-limit or otherwise impose unreasonable load on the service.
- Use the data to misrepresent any individual, organisation or geography.
- Republish article body text or images from third-party sources via the Hantaflow API beyond the metadata fields we expose.
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws.
8. Changes
We may update these terms when the underlying service materially changes. The latest version is always available at this URL.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Place of jurisdiction is the operator's registered address as stated on the Impressum, to the extent permitted by mandatory law (consumer-protection rules in particular remain unaffected).
