Overview
Colombia is in the Americas hantavirus context. There is no major endemic hantavirus strain in this curated dataset; the country may still record imported cases.
Hantavirus circulation in Colombia has been documented serologically since the early 2000s. A 2013 Caribbean-region study (Córdoba) reported ~3.5% of agricultural workers IgG-positive for Maciel-virus antigens and ~7.3% for Araraquara-virus antigens; rodent surveillance confirms a Calabazo-related lineage in Zygodontomys cherriei.
